Sports Betting: DraftKings, Bet MGM, and FanDuel

Sports betting through apps like Draft Kings, Bet MGM, and Fan Duel has take storm through the sports world, with just abut every sport to bet on, from ping pong to the NFL. Personally, I have never been the one to place bets, especially in sports because ANYTHING can happen from a buzzer beater to an inch short of the goal line, sports betting has never intrigued me because of the high risk there is when it comes to losing your money. Although, after placing my first bet on Draft Kings, Fan Duel and Bet MGM everything I used believe change.

Draft Kings was the first sports betting app that I had downloaded because of recommendations from family member. The first bet I placed was on the Green Bay Packers playing against the Arizona Cardinals on a Thursday night football. Not an easy first bet to make, considering how close the game was coming down to the last play of the game, where in which the Cardinals would come up short with a score of 24-21 Green Bay winning. In this same game parlay bet my success was taking under 50.5 total points, GB packs spread of 6.5, and the alternate total points being 40.5. In this bet I place was solely off of what I believed was going to happen.

Personally, Draft Kings has been my go to app to use because of one of my bigger bets that I made I lost on Bet MGM. The game I placed a bet on was the Golden State Warriors and the Phenix Suns. I took a $60 dollar bet in a same game parlay of Warriors spread +1.5, Devin Booker over 21.5 points, Chris Paul over 8.5 assists and curry over 5.5 assist. The Phenix Suns beat the Warriors and Steph Curry had his worst shooting percentage in his entire career, shooting 4-21 FG & 3-14 3p which shocked everyone in the NBA world. This bet could have turned into a $340 profit, talk about disappointment.

Although, one of my recent bets I was able to hit with success. The bet I placed on fan duel was on the Lakers vs Celtics game, with LeBron James scoring 25+, Anthony Davis 8+ rebounds, Russell Westbrook 6+ assists, and Jayson Tatum scoring 3+ 3’s. This was a successful parlay bet making a profit of $130. The Lakers were able to come out on top of this game out scoring the Boston Celtics 117-102 in Los Angeles.

With the little success that I have had using sports betting apps, I might continue to let the accounts grow for the super bowl to come!
