NBA Season is Underway for the 2021-2022 year

NBA - The Ringer

The NBA season is underway, as last night we saw match ups between the Lakers and Warriors and the Brooklyn Nets faced off against the Milwaukee Bucks, the defending NBA champions from last season. The Nets and Lakers are considered “super teams” going into this season with veterans who have been to the playoffs or NBA Finals and even won the Finals. Although, the Bucks and Warriors were able to come out on top of the Nets and the Lakers demonstrating chemistry, but this is only the beginning to a long competitive season in the NBA.

The Philadelphia 76ers look to open up their season today against the Pelicans, but with the issue between the 76ers and Ben Simmons, it is unlikely we will see him in uniform to play in tonights game because the 76ers have yet to grant Simmons wish of being traded. Each game that Ben Simmons will miss, he will lose out on $360,304 from his contract, and in which looks like he is ready to lose considering his absence from team practices or even selfish acts that have cost him to be removed from practice.

Although, the 76ers are not the only team dealing with player issues as the Brooklyn Nets are still battling with PG Kyrie Irving on getting vaccinated for the COVID-19 virus. Kyrie is one of the few players in the NBA that are denying the vaccine after majority of the NBA players have already received full vaccination doses. Kyrie Irving’s requirement in order to practice and play in New York or across the NBA is to receive one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, but that requirement is something that does not sit well with the star point guard.

The season just started and there are a lot of emotions and energy built up in this years run for the hardware. Teams like the Denver Nuggets are ready to get back to the playoffs and hopefully the the NBA Finals. The Nuggets faced plenty of injuries throughout the roster last season, including G Jamal Murray, who suffered an ACL tear last season. Unfortunately, the Denver Nuggets are starting the season without their star guard, with no exact estimate on his return. The Nuggets are looking to get this season underway with MVP center Nikola Jokic.
